Directions
Your assignment is to research important American writers and find out what their most important writings were and what these writings were about. A place to start would be Answers.com or Wikipedia, but you can use any search engine you want.

• Write your information on your own paper and then type it up in a Microsoft Word document. You will be turning the paper notes in for a grade.
• Include a picture of each writer in your document. You may also include a picture of the book or essays.
• Save your Word document "writers" and then the number of your computer. It should look like this: writers1.doc
• Put it in my drop box when you are finished. Follow the directions below to do that.

This is a two-day assignment. Below are the writers you will be researching.
